Proof of Identity and Address
By law, we are obliged to check and verify that the information you give us is correct. We normally need verification of ‘true full name’ and ‘correct permanent Irish address including post code where applicable’.

Suitable forms of ID verification are:
  • Current signed passport
  • National Identity Card issued by EU member states
  • Full or provisional driving licence with photograph (ROI and UK issue only)
  • Age card issued by the Garda Community Relations Section (contains photograph)
Suitable forms of proof of address are:
  • Current utility bill (gas, electricity, telephone, TV licence, TV Cable, Local authority) issued within the last 3 months
  • Current bank, building society or financial institution statement issued within the last 3 months
  • Current balancing statement from the Revenue Commissioners or C2 Tax certificate
  • Current mobile telephone bill issued within the last 3 months
  • Current household/motor insurance certificates
